Rack mounted units aren't typically attractive; instead, they are functional. Our marketing people (many of whom secretly wish they could work at BMW) complain all of the time about it; the kindest thing they say is that all rack-mount units have "a face only a mother could love." To put it more plainly, what they kept telling us was "your dog is ugly."

So we decided to spend a lot of time and money bending sheet metal and creating an incredibly attractive unit - something that is sexy and beautiful and eye-catching which would please our marketing people. Not.

We admit that we're completely and utterly obsessed with achieving the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry and delivering the best price/performance for our customers. And we aren't going to spend a dime making our rack-mount units pretty unless it actually helps us toward that goal.

Besides...we think that our high-density, high-performance, highly reliable, highly available, and highly serviceable storage platforms are sexy and beautiful in a form follows function kind of way. Then again, we like the way our dog looks.

So with that said, our 2U and 3U form factor rack mount units follow. Please...be kind...we have feelings too.
