Josh Gray
Josh Gray
Chief Executive Officer

Josh Gray is an Insight Venture Partner and is currently serving as Interim CEO for Unitrends. Josh serves on the Board of Directors for the company.

Josh joined Insight in 2015, and has worked closely with CEOs and their executive teams to drive growth, improve operations, and achieve better & faster outcomes.

In 2013, Josh joined Oracle via its acquisition of BigMachines, where he served as General Manager of the BigMachines Express business. Josh started and grew BigMachines Express to a multi-million dollar business. He previously led BigMachines’ Customer Success team and served as Director of Business Strategy, managing growth and operational initiatives across the organization.   Previously, Josh held roles in both the public & private sectors. He worked for the Chicago Public Schools, served as Assistant COO for Obama for America, and consulted for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Prior to BCG, Josh spent four years as a venture capital and private equity investor with Lehman Brothers Venture Capital Group and Svoboda Capital Partners.

Josh holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School, where he was selected as a Zuckerman Fellow. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Michigan with a BA in Political Science.

 

 

Richard Wells
Richard Wells

Richard Wells has over 14 years of experience in investing and advising managers of high growth software and Internet companies.  At Insight he focuses on investments in infrastructure software and SaaS companies.  He currently oversees the investments or serves on the boards of AirWatch, BeyondTrust, Cherwell Software, HealthcareSource, Kinnser Software, Metalogix, PHD Virtual and SmartBear Software and Zumba Fitness. Richard previously served on the boards of Netsmart Technologies (acquired by Genstar Capital) and Primavera (acquired by Oracle), and was active with the board of Buddy Media (acquired by Salesforce.com).

Richard joined Insight in 2005 from Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), where he was an investment professional with a focus on software, online media and e-commerce. Prior to Insight, Richard  worked in product management for enterprise data protection products at Veritas Software (now part of Symantec), and in field sales for Paciolan Systems (now part of Ticketmaster).  He began his career as a management consultant with Mercer Management Consulting, where he advised global technology companies on their marketing and business strategies.

Richard received a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude) and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.  He grew up in Southern California and resides in Manhattan with his wife, son and daughter.  Thanks to his father's New England roots, Richard is an avid Boston Red Sox fan and is already having a lot of fun passing this along to his children.

Michael Triplett
Michael Triplett

Michael Triplett is a managing partner and joined Insight in 1998. Mike focuses on investments in Infrastructure and Application Software companies and has been instrumental in investments in more than twenty companies, many of which have achieved fast growth and realized significant value for shareholders and employees. Notable among these are the IPOs of Click Commerce, Solarwinds Inc. (NYSE: SWI), and Quest Software, and the acquisitions of Aelita Software (acquired by Quest Software) Authorize.net (acquired by Go2Net), Astaro (acquired by Sophos), Imceda Software (acquired by Quest Software), Folhamatic (acquired by Sage plc), eEye Digital Security (acquired by BeyondTrust), and ScriptLogic (acquired by Quest Software). Recently Mike has invested in several companies in Brazil, in addition to his investments in Europe and the United States.

Mike currently oversees Insight’s investments or serves on the board of directors at Acorn Systems, Acronis, BeyondTrust, GFI Software, IKANO/Virtacore, KaBbum!, Kaseya, Metalogix, PHDVirtual, SmartBear, and Veeam.

Prior to joining Insight, Mike was an investment professional at Summit Partners, where he focused on investments in infrastructure and enterprise application software companies. Previously in his career, Mike worked as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co. and at Midland Data Systems.

Mike graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a BA in Economics.

Kevin Klausmeyer
Kevin Klausmeyer

Kevin has served on our board of directors since August 2014. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Hortonworks, Inc., the open source “big data” architecture company, Callidus Software Inc., a provider of software-as-a-service sales and marketing automation solutions, and various privately-held companies. From April 2013 to October 2013, Mr. Klausmeyer served on the board of directors of Sourcefire, Inc., a provider of network security solutions (acquired by Cisco Systems). From July 2003 to September 2012, Mr. Klausmeyer served on the board of directors of Quest Software, Inc., a software company (acquired by Dell, Inc.).

From July 2006 to February 2011, Mr. Klausmeyer served as the Chief Financial Officer of The Planet, Inc., a hosting and cloud-based solutions company (acquired by Softlayer Technologies, Inc. which was acquired by IBM). He previously served as CFO of various other technology companies.

Mr. Klausmeyer holds a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Texas.

 

Dr. Mark Campbell

Prior to joining Unitrends, Mark was CEO of mindAmp Corporation, which provided high-technology business and software consulting to venture capitalists and management within A- and B-round startup companies. Before that, Mark was senior vice president and general manager of the worldwide systems management business at Legent Corporation, where he helped lead its successful acquisition by Computer Associates. Prior to joining Legent, Mark was vice president and general manager of AT&T’s worldwide enterprise systems business unit, where he had P&L responsibility for its $1.5B server and enterprise software business.

Previously, Mark was vice president and general manager of the worldwide server and software business unit at NCR Corporation (acquired by AT&T), where he had P&L responsibility for just over $1B of revenue. Mark earned a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctoral degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of South Carolina and a degree in international business from INSEAD.
