Trelys Funds

Organized in 2001, The Trelys Funds is a venture capital investment group headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina. Trelys focuses on an underserved market of entrepreneurs and investors located primarily in South Carolina and the surrounding region. The founding investors of The Trelys Funds include BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, BB&T Corporation, Carolina First Bank, First Citizens Bank, the Clemson University Foundation, and the Medical University of South Carolina Foundation. Trelys focuses on early stage financings in a variety of industry sectors. Although most high growth opportunities will be found in information technologies, communications technologies, biotechnologies and life sciences, Trelys will consider investments in any company that meets its investment criteria. Trelys' managing partners are Adrian Wilson and Larry Wilson (no family relation), who are supported by an advisory board of highly regarded business leaders. The advisory board assists the partnership in the sourcing of quality investment opportunities, in business plan evaluation, and in post-investment service to portfolio companies.

Aurora Funds

The Aurora Funds is a venture capital firm that provides capital, connections and strategic guidance to entrepreneurs with early-stage healthcare and information technology companies. Founded in 1994, Aurora manages over $200 million in five venture funds. The firm's six investment professionals have over 100 years of combined venture capital investing and operational experience. The Aurora team has managed investments in over 60 companies, resulting in five IPOs and eight M&A transactions to date. Aurora typically is a lead investor in early-stage companies located primarily in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States.

Harbert Venture Partners, LLC (HVP) provides growth capital to early stage technology and healthcare companies in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S. HVP's team combines substantial investment, advisory and operating experience with capital to assist entrepreneurs in successfully executing their growth plans. Charleston Angel Partners

The Charleston Angel Partners (CHAP) is a member-driven organization composed of a group of Charleston area business professionals who work together to help support high growth economic development in the region. We screen and evaluate qualified start-ups looking for seed capital. Membership is open to area men and women who are qualified individual investors, and have business or professional experience which can be employed in the group's research. Members work collectively to gain the benefits of a group experience, but act individually in every investment decision.

CHAP members share the common objectives of: a) supporting economic development in the Charleston area and surrounding region, particularly in growth oriented early-stage companies with solid business plans and a good management team; b) improving their individual investment returns by working together, leveraging their collective and diverse experience and expertise; and, c) sustaining and nurturing CHAP as a community leadership organization for committed and energetic professional men and women, both active and retired.
