Unitrends, the industry’s fastest-growing multi-environment data protection and disaster recovery company, announced today that Bob Gagnon, the company’s vice president of channel sales worldwide, has been named a CRN 2014 Channel Chief for the fourth consecutive year. In 2013, Gagnon built upon an impressive track record of success, leading his team to substantially expand Unitrends’ channel footprint, develop and implement new, innovative partner programs, and boost channel revenue. In fact, his organization’s achievements contributed to the most profitable year in Unitrends’ history. Noteworthy accomplishments include:
• 153 percent increase in channel-generated pipeline in 2013 over 2012;
• Remarkable adoption of the UniRewards loyalty program; 6,750 new members were recruited and enrolled in the past twelve months; and,
• 125 percent boost in inbound deal registration traffic.
The UniRewards loyalty program, which Gagnon rolled out in February 2013, has generated extraordinary business value for the company and members. It enables partners and resellers to earn points for engaging in various activities that support Unitrends’ products and services and then redeem their reward points for cash. Under Gagnon’s leadership, the UniRewards platform has been integrated into every channel sales and marketing initiative, allowing the company to fully leverage behavioral-based incentives which resulted in triple-digit pipeline growth from the channel.
Gagnon’s organization also launched Unitrends’ revolutionary Service Provider Program, which equips hosting, managed services and cloud providers with the agile infrastructure needed to simply and cost-effectively offer onsite and offsite backup and disaster recovery services to their customers. Additionally, the channel team hit a key growth milestone in signing Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD), one of the world's largest distributors of IT products and services.
“The emphasis of our channel program continues to be on enablement and loyalty,” said Gagnon. “We approach our partner relationships with the same unwavering commitment the company has to exceptional customer service. We are focused each day on the individual partner experience and ensuring that it’s easy and rewarding for them to engage with Unitrends.”
For well over a decade, CRN Channel Chiefs have been selected by the CRN editorial team based on channel experience, program innovations, channel-driven revenue, and public support for the importance of IT channel sales.
“We are pleased to highlight the many executives throughout the industry who work tirelessly to advance the standing of the channel community within their organizations,” said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. “The CRN Channel Chief honorees lead, inspire and engage peers and serve as valuable advocates to help ensure the health and longevity of the channel within the IT industry. We applaud their efforts and look forward to their continued success.”
