Philip Eliot › Principal, Paladin Capital Group

Philip serves as Chairman of the Board of Unitrends.

Philip is a Principal of Paladin and focuses on investments in technology-driven companies in a variety of industries. Philip has been working with early-stage technology companies since 2000, when he joined FBR Technology Venture Partners ("FBRTVP"), a $200 million venture capital fund focused on software and telecommunications companies in the mid-Atlantic region. Prior to joining Paladin, he was a Vice President at Core Capital Partners, where he led investments in software and infrastructure companies including SilverStorm Technologies (acquired by QLogic, NASDAQ: QLGC) and RulesPower Corp. (acquired by Fair, Isaac; NYSE: FIC). Philip began his career as a consultant at Dean & Company, working in the telecommunications and utilities industries as well as the firm's private equity practice.

Philip received a B.A. in Physics with Honors from Harvard University.

Ken Berryman › Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, BMC Software

Berryman joined BMC in September 2010 and is responsible for the Company's corporate strategy, global alliances and M&A activities. BMC offers a comprehensive approach and unified platform to help IT organizations cut cost, reduce risk and drive business profit. Prior to joining BMC, Berryman was the SVP of strategy at Symantec, a global company that provides security, storage and systems management solutions. There, Berryman was responsible for driving the company’s overall virtualization business, including software and steaming solutions, as well as responsible for the NetBackup, PureDisk and Backup Reporter product lines. Berryman also held a position at McKinsey for ten years where he led the North American Software practice and was a well-known speaker at events including Software and Enterprise, SoftSummit, and SIAA's Enterprise conferences.

Berryman holds both a master's and doctorate in physics from Stanford University as well as a bachelor's in physics from Harvard University.

Scott Albert › Co-Founder and Partner, Aurora Funds

Scott co-founded The Aurora Funds with Jeff Clark in 1994, after already spending nearly a decade in the venture capital industry. Having also spent time as an entrepreneur, he wanted to create an entrepreneur-friendly venture capital firm that could offer hands on support and guidance in addition to funding. Today, he leads the IT investment team at Aurora and also oversees much of the day-to-day management of the firm, working closely with the CFO and Controller. He tries to make sure that everyone on the team does everything they can to support Aurora's portfolio companies. Prior to forming The Aurora Funds, Scott was the Chief Investment Officer of the North Carolina Technological Development Authority, Inc. ("NCTDA"), a state funded corporation that supports technology based entrepreneurial companies in North Carolina. While there, he led the new venture investment efforts and performed portfolio company monitoring for the NCTDA's extensive statewide portfolio. Prior to serving at the NCTDA, he was at Criterion Venture Partners in Houston, Texas, as a General Partner for a $30 million pool of capital and with Golder, Thoma and Cressey, in Chicago. In addition, he has served as President of a venture-backed start-up company. Before entering the venture capital industry, he was a consultant for Booz, Allen and Hamilton. During his venture capital career, Scott has helped close more than 40 investment deals including a broad range of Information Technology and Life Sciences companies. Scott currently serves on the boards of several Aurora portfolio companies including ALN Medical Management, Centice, StrikeIron and Trivirix. Scott was previously on the boards of Solution Technology (acquired by Rodel) and DataFlux (acquired by SAS) and led the Aurora investment in Blackboard (NASDAQ: BBBB).

Scott has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Wayne L. Hunter › Managing Partner, Harbert Venture Partners

Wayne is Managing Partner of Harbert Venture Partners and serves on the boards of Airimba Wireless, Broadsource, Privaris, TapRoot and Unitrends. Prior to joining Harbert in 2002, he was Managing Director and Head of First Union's Technology Investment Banking Group. In addition, he was a member of First Union's Private Equity/Venture Capital Fund Investment Committee and served on First Union's Investment Banking Management Committee. He has more than fifteen years of experience working with leading entrepreneurs and venture capitalists in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. During his tenure in investment banking, he advised on more than one hundred financing and M&A transactions totaling $24 billion. His mergers and acquisitions and financial advisory experience encompass the software, IT services, communications services, and equipment sectors.

Wayne received a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University.

Larry Wilson › Partner, FirstMark Capital

Larry is a Partner with FirstMark Capital, a leading New York-based venture capital firm. Previously he was a General Partner with Trelys, a venture capital firm based in South Carolina. He is the former chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer of Mynd Corporation, formerly Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC). With corporate headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina, Mynd had approximately 6,000 employees worldwide and was a leading provider of application software, related automation support and outsourcing services designed to meet the needs of the global insurance and financial services industries. Mynd was a publicly held corporation, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. As the founder of PMSC in 1974, Larry served as its chief executive officer from its public offering in 1981 until its merger with CSC in December of 2000. Larry is a 1969 graduate of the University of South Carolina (USC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, and he received a Masters of Business Administration degree from USC in 1970. Among the many honors he has received, Larry was named one of the top three CEOs in the computer software and services industry five times by The Wall Street Transcript

He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from USC's College of Business Administration and the Yale University Cultural Achievement Award. He has served on numerous technology company boards including Ometric, ISSCO, Legent, Computer Application Systems, Inc., and Conita.

Mike Coney › Chief Executive Officer, Unitrends

Mike has been president and chief executive officer since November 2009 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since September 2008. Prior to Unitrends, Mike was president and general manager of Acronis Software, where he led the corporate strategy for North and South America. Prior to Acronis, Mike served as senior vice president of the Americas for Veritas until the merger with Symantec. Mike was also executive vice president of worldwide operations for Ingres Software Corporation and has held senior management roles at high growth companies such as Sun Microsystems and Monster.com

Mike is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program at the Wharton School of Business and earned a Bachelor’s degree from the New York Institute of Technology.  He also served with the US Army as a member of the Army Security Agency.

Mark Campbell › Chief Strategy/Technology Officer, Unitrends

Mark is the COO of Unitrends. He originally joined Unitrends as its CTO in 2008. Prior to joining Unitrends, Mark co-founded mindAmp Corporation which provided high-technology business and software development consulting. Previously, he worked as the Senior Vice President of the Systems Management Business at Legent Corporation and thus led over one thousand marketing, product managers, project managers, and engineers in the United States and Europe. Mark left Legent after successfully helping steer the company in its acquisition by Computer Associates. Before joining Legent, Mark was a vice president at NCR Corporation where he had profit and loss responsibility for its $1.5B+ server business. In this capacity he was responsible for over fifteen hundred marketing, product management, and engineers in the United States, Europe, India, and China.

Mark earned a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctoral degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of South Carolina and a degree in international business from INSEAD.
