DPU Administration
This instructor-led course prepares you to administer a Unitrends data protection solution using DPU products and the Unitrends suite of Backup, Hot Bare Metal™ and Replication software. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on labs, and practical exercises to test your skills before using them in your environment.
This course is for system administrators, system engineers and technical support personnel that will be responsible for the operation, administration, and troubleshooting of Unitrends' hardware and software products.
Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with the administration and configuration of their respective platform(s) and operating environment. Students should also be familiar with basic backup/restore and disaster recovery strategies and techniques.After completing the course you will be able to
- Configure, and operate the DPU and accompanying software
- Manage the DPU using the graphical interfaces
- Install and configure client software
- Backup and restore file level data
- Perform Hot Bare Metal™ backups and file system recovery
- Use the administration utility to monitor system operation

Advanced DPU Administration
This instructor-led course is an addendum to what you learn in DPU Administration. This class covers configuration of a DPV, and advanced options not covered in the Basic Administration class. It covers the inner workings in greater detail, including troubleshooting, capacity upgrades, hot swap disk recovery, complex scheduling, and archiving. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, hands-on labs, and practical exercises to test your skills before using them in your environment.
This course is for system administrators, system engineers and technical support personnel that will be responsible for the installation, operation, administration, and troubleshooting of Unitrends' hardware and software products. Although this is an advanced class targeted at those responsible for complex or multiple installations, everyday end-users may benefit greatly from the knowledge presented in this course.
Prerequisites
Students should attend DPU Administration in conjunction with this class if they have not attended training within the last 12 months. Students should have experience using Linux operating systems, especially from the command line interface. Prior experience using a DPU is helpful, but not required.After completing the course you will be able to

- Troubleshoot common issues
- Design complex schedules
- Archive and recover archived data
