(Part 1 – Intro) Recovery Series and Unitrends Enterprise Backup 9.0

A few days ago, we announced the availability of Release 9.0 for our Recovery Series physical appliances and Unitrends Enterprise Backup software. While the PR was great, we could not possibly have covered everything the release had to offer IT administrators in a one-pager.

Over the next several days, this blog series will take a deeper look at the new functionality and benefits that enable organizations to recover more with Unitrends and open themselves up to cloud-empowered continuity. Our key goal is to give you back your time – time to focus on your business, your personal life, or whatever it is you’d rather be doing than babysitting backup or manually testing recovery.

So how does Release 9.0 drive radical ease of use for you?  Here are the top hitters, to which we’ll have individual blogs to dive deeper:

Backed by the new Satori user interface, we’ve significantly reduced the steps, clicks and time to complete basic tasks and troubleshooting…and benchmarked ourselves against key competitors.

Partners and enterprise customers can extend, integrate, and automate Unitrends backup capabilities

Automate testing and failover of Unitrends backups for physical Windows, as well as VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines

Achieve full continuity with offsite storage and disaster recovery as a service without paying a cent for on-premise protection

  •  Citrix XenServer Hypervisor-Level Protection (Link to blog)

XenServer users now have the ability to protect at the hypervisor and deep virtual levels to be able to meet critical Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objectives that were previously difficult to achieve for this hypervisor

While we think Release 9.0 will be special for all those looking at Unitrends for the first time, it is especially important for some of our existing customers. 9.0 represents a major step in unifying our software portfolio.

Unitrends Virtual Backup customers now have two critical features they’ve been waiting for as a part of their migration to Unitrends Enterprise Backup. Also, additional integration with ReliableDR and the Unitrends backup software adds a unified approach to automated recovery testing across physical and virtual backups that gives IT admins the confidence that recovery will work – and within SLAs.

So stay tuned as the series unfolds…
