Deep, Granular Protection for Microsoft Exchange Server

Microsoft Exchange databases residing on physical windows machines are protected with a native Exchange agent. In a virtual environment, Exchange is protected with an agentless architecture. For incremental backups, it identifies the blocks that have changed within the Exchange databases and optimizes the ingest leveraging adaptive inline deduplication.

As new databases are added to an Exchange server, they are automatically detected by Unitrends and added to a customer defined policy upon auto-detection. The policy dictates the frequency with which databases will be protected, the retention associated with the databases and whether the databases will be replicated to an offsite private, hyperscale or Unitrends Cloud for disaster recovery.

Microsoft SQL Server

In a virtual environment, SQL Server can be protected using an agentless architecture at the host level, leveraging the appropriate API. In addition, the application aware processing capabilities of the Unitrends architecture enables the capture of the application with the required point-in-time consistency for guaranteed recovery.

SQL Server databases residing on physical windows machines are protected with a native SQL Server agent. This unique agent allows us to protect SQL Server databases in a manner that are optimized for deduplication and high ingest rates and at the same time, allow us to replay transaction logs with the granularity of 60 seconds.

Microsoft SharePoint

In a virtual environment, SharePoint can be protected using an agentless architecture at the host level) level. In addition, the application aware processing capabilities of the Unitrends architecture enables the capture of the application with the required point-in-time consistency for guaranteed recovery.

In addition, SharePoint farms within a virtual or physical environment, can be protected by a native SharePoint agent that leverages Microsoft’s API and tools to ensure that a point-in-time consistent backup is performed across the nodes that distributes the application.

Any changes in the SharePoint farm are automatically detected and policies are appropriately updated.

Oracle Database

Unitrends protects Oracle Database natively. Native protection means that the user has the option of deep virtual protection when Oracle is operating within a virtual machine and physical protection when Oracle Database is operating on a physical server. Unitrends supports Windows, Linux, Solaris, version numbers 11g and 12c.

Novell Groupwise and eDirectory

Unitrends protects Novell Groupwise and Novel eDirectory natively. Native protection means that the user has the option of deep virtual protection when these Novell applications is operating within a virtual machine and physical protection when they are operating on a physical server.
