Our D2D backup appliances provide a network-based backup solution for VMware enabling enterprise-class data protection and backup and recovery with an appliance designed from the ground-up for small and medium businesses. Unlike competing solutions, Unitrends does not charge on a per-client, per-operating system or per-feature basis; thus, VMware ESX/ESXi backup comes with no additional licensing fees. Up-to-Date D2D VMware ESX/ESXi BackupUnitrends supports backup, archiving and disaster recovery for the following licensed versions of VMware:
VMware ESX/ESXi Backup ArchitectureVMware introduced the vStorage APIs for Data Protection (VADP) in vSphere 4.0. Unitrends’ D2D backup appliances leverage VADP to perform centralized, efficient backups of virtual machines. Unitrends VMware protection supports full, differential and incremental backups of the virtual machines by utilizing the Change Block Tracking technology. Virtual machines in a vMotion setup are natively supported. In addition, Unitrends’ D2D2x architecture offers disaster recovery with both on-premise rotational archiving and with electronic vaulting to an off-premise appliance in addition to Unitrends’ public cloud. Unitrends uses a common D2D backup and recovery engine for providing protection for over 100 different versions of operating systems and applications. This means you can support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, Sun Solaris, Novell OES, Novell Netware, Novell GroupWise, Novell eDirectory, Linux, FreeBSD, Apple MacOS X, IBM pSeries/AIX, HP HP-UX, SCO UnixWare, SCO OpenServer, IBM iSeries/OS400, and SGI IRIX on notebooks, PCs, workstations, and servers and on DAS, NAS, or SAN storage. |
